Make Waves for the IWK

Allswater is proud to again be a Gold Level sponsor of Make Waves for the IWK, a series of regional sailboat races and shore-side community parties being held in Halifax, Baddeck, Pictou and Charlottetown.

Make Waves is more than just a sailing race, it is a movement to support the IWK Health Centre. In one way or another, the IWK touches every community and every family in the Maritimes. Ian Dawson, one of our own and Make Waves event chair, became acutely aware of the breadth and depth of the IWK’s services in July 2013 after a motor vehicle incident in 2013 which profoundly affected his and his neighbour’s family.

The event is more than just a fundraiser for a world class children health care facility.  It is a great big thank you to the region’s first emergency responders and indeed to all Maritimers who come together to help each other in our times of greatest need.
