85’ Longliner Moves Into Next Phase of Construction

The 85-foot longliner under construction for a fishing family in rural Nova Scotia is making steady progress at the AF Theriault yard in Meteghan River.

Since our last update, a major milestone has been reached: the deckhouse is now in place, and outfitting is underway. This marks a pivotal stage in the build, giving the vessel its distinctive profile and bringing it closer to completion.

Current work focuses on both structural and outfitting tasks, including the installation of steel fittings, piping systems, electrical components, and accommodations—critical elements for a vessel designed to perform efficiently across multiple fisheries.

Throughout this process, Allswater continues to collaborate closely with AF Theriault, providing design expertise and managing regulatory requirements, while AFT handles the hands-on construction. This partnership ensures the vessel combines practical fishing experience with modern compliance standards.

Stay tuned for our next update as this hardworking longliner takes shape along Nova Scotia’s shores.
